What we publish, what we refuse, and how to get a listing removed
Employers pay a flat fee to place a listing on the page for the occupation they are hiring for. This page is the whole deal, written down before the first sale.

If we reject a listing after payment, you are refunded in full. If you withdraw part-way through a live term, email us and we will refund pro rata.
What every listing must have
- A named legal employer at a real company domain that resolves. No confidential or undisclosed employers, and no posters we can only reach at a free mailbox.

- A stated pay figure. We compare it against our own federal median for that occupation and a figure far outside the range is flagged for a person to look at — not rejected, because unusual offers exist, but looked at.
- A description with enough in it to decide whether to apply, and a direct application route on the employer's own domain.
What is rejected outright
Self-serve posting on a site about honest pay is a magnet for job scams, and a fraudulent listing sitting under a federal median would destroy the only asset this site has. These are refused automatically, before payment:

- Anything that asks the applicant for money — application, training, equipment, background-check or placement fees, buy-ins, or starter kits. No exceptions, ever.
- Money-mule and reshipping patterns: payment-processing agents, package forwarders, mystery shoppers, or any role that routes funds through a personal bank account.

Every listing is read by a person
Payment does not publish anything. Every paid listing goes into a review queue and a person reads it — with our own median for that occupation on the screen next to the pay the employer claims — before it appears. Usually within one working day.
We do not carry aggregated feeds from job-listing networks, so there is no third-party inventory on this site. Every listing you see is one we accepted money for and read first. That raises our standard rather than lowering it.

Every listing on the site carries a report link. Use it, or email hello@whatpays.org.
- Fraud, or a fee charged to applicants: the listing comes down the same working day, while we check. We do not wait to be sure before removing.
- Anything else — filled roles, wrong pay, a disputed employer: reviewed within three working days.
