This is the master's route, which is now the only route. It rests on a thin base — only about twenty institutions report a graduate debt figure for this programme code — so treat it as indicative of the level rather than precise. College Scorecard pools two award years into each figure; the release used here is dated 10 June 2026.
Since 1 January 2024 the credential requires a master's degree, so the route is a bachelor's in dietetics or an equivalent, then a master's and a supervised practice programme of 1,000 hours, then the registration examination. The supervised practice place is the bottleneck, and it is competitive.
Registration is maintained through a five-year continuing professional education cycle and an annual fee.
