The low and high figures are the 25th and 75th percentiles across the institutions that report a figure for this programme, so a quarter of institutions sit below the low end. Read the gap here with one structural caveat: federal employment data counts employees, and a substantial share of veterinarians own their practice, so practice owners are largely missing from the employed side while remaining in this count. AVMA itself holds no employment information for 28,343 of the people in the total.
